Afrasia Productions, Inc. a music production company and record label formed in 2004 by producer Elisabeth Oei and singer/composer Carmen Lundy, offers the best in exciting, new music from Carmen Lundy as well as other innovative and pioneering jazz visionaries.

Afrasia Productions continues to explore new dimensions in the world of jazz and new music. Currently on the Afrasia label are composer, arranger and vocalist Carmen Lundy and composer and percussionist Mayra Casales.

As a composer, Ms. Lundy’s catalogue numbers over 100 published songs, one of the few jazz vocalists in history to accomplish such a distinction, and has led to the first publication of the Carmen Lundy Songbook (2007).  Her songs have been recorded by such artists as Kenny Barron (“Quiet Times”), Ernie Watts (“At The End Of My Rope”), Straight Ahead (“Never Gonna Let You Go”), and Jamison Ross (“These Things You Are To Me”)

Her discography on the Afrasia label consists of her debut album in 1985 of “Good Morning Kiss” (CLR/Afrasia Productions), subsequently “Night And Day” (re-issued by Afrasia in 2011), “Jazz and The New Songbook – Live at The Madrid” (2-disc set and DVD, Afrasia Productions), “Come Home”, “Solamente”, “Changes”, “Soul To Soul”, “Code Noir” and “Modern Ancestors”.

Woman on Fire, “Mujer Ardiente”, is the debut solo album of Latin Jazz Percussionist Mayra Casales. This album is a tribute to all of the world music influences and artists Mayra has had the joy and honor of playing with. Special guests include Carmen Lundy, Regina Carter, Jon Lucien and David Budway.
